Adam’s House marks a new beginning in the lives of men in Prince George’s County
who are in need of support, guidance or assistance managing their lives and
connecting with their children and families. An integrated and comprehensive center,
Adam’s House serves as a center for health care, social support, parenting groups,
child support enforcement assistance, job preparedness, remedial reading and math,
and male family planning. As both a provider of direct service and a clearinghouse
link to outside resources, Adam’s House promotes healthy manhood, personal growth
and the importance of loving fathers in the social, emotional, spiritual, and moral
development of children.

Who Are the Staff?
Donald Shell, MD, Medical Director and Program Manager
Licensed in Family Practice with a certification in Sports Medicine, Dr. Shell is
committed to male health and sports health maintenance issues. He is well-published,
academically recognized and highly credentialed with honors in International/Olympic
Sports Medicine.

William Hall, Male Involvement Specialist
A veteran of the fatherhood movement, Mr. Hall has launched several local and
national male support programs. He currently teams with his wife Stacie who
shares his dedication to the institution of marriage and family life.
Lonnie Perrin, Male Involvement Specialist
Passionate about fatherhood and the development of strong adolescent males, Mr.
Perrin applies the psychology of sports and recreation to his esteem building
work with young men. An ex-NFL player (the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears),
he now gives his time and dedication to those in need in his community.
Cherry Clark, MSW, Male Involvement Specialist
Pursuing a career track in social services, Mr. Clark specializes in working with
integrating families and restructuring disconnected youth and families within the
foster care system. He is dedicated to family life and the importance of the father
in child development.
Jeffrey Hill, Male Involvement Specialist and Medical Assistant
Clinically trained as an Emergency Medical Technician and a Paramedic, Mr. Hill
is committed to healthy adolescent male development and is particularly focused
on the needs of pre-teen and teen males. He assists Dr. Shell with clinical
sessions and sports health assessments.

What is the Mission of the Program?
The mission of the program is to identify the health, social, emotional, and
spiritual needs of men having difficulty accessing and participating in the lives
of their children; to provide direct intervention at Adam’s House when possible;
and to facilitate linkages to other programs that enhance healthy manhood/fatherhood
development.
What Does the Program Wish to Achieve?

- Ensure that men of all ages come to understand the importance of fatherhood,
to value their role in parenting their children, and to see successful
fatherhood as a primary goal in life.
- Redefine fatherhood as a male - not female - decision
- Reunite disconnected fathers with their children
- Ensure that undocumented support of children by absent fathers is recognized
by the courts in Child Support Enforcement hearings
- Increase community awareness of the importance of fatherhood and the value
of fathers in child development
- Provide a way for incarcerated fathers to retake control of their lives and
the lives of their children in a positive and constructive manner
- Bring recognition to fathers who quietly and effectively father their children
year after year to successful adulthood

Who Can Come to Adam’s House?
Males of all ages are welcome. Special programs include young males ages 10-25 and
fathers ages 15-35. The sports program includes all males participating in sports
events.
Do I Need an Appointment?
Clinic appointments should be made in advance to see Dr. Shell. Please call
301-324-5141 or 301-324-2996. Counselors are at the courthouse for Child Support
Enforcement sessions twice a week. A counselor is at Adam’s House during business
hours for walk-in needs.
How Do I Get There?
From Points North: Take either I-95 or The Baltimore-Washington
Parkway to the Capital Beltway (I-95 South). Follow the Capital Beltway to Exit
15B-Central Avenue West. Pass Hampton Mall (on your left) and go through the
intersection at Ritchie Road. Shortly thereafter, you will see a small shopping
strip on your right called The Family Furniture Shopping Center (a Subway shop at
the end of the strip). Turn into the parking lot. Adam’s House is a storefront in
the middle of the strip.
From Points South: Take the Capital Beltway North to Exit 15B,
Central Avenue West. Pass Hampton Mall (on you left) and go through the intersection
at Ritchie Road. Shortly thereafter, you will see a small shopping strip on your
right called The Family Furniture Shopping Center (a Subway shop at the end of the
strip). Turn into the parking lot. Adam’s House is a storefront in the middle of
the strip.
From Points West: Take Route 214 East (away from Washington DC.).
Pass the Addison Road Metro Station (on your right) and go through the intersections
at Pepper Mill Drive and Hill Road. Shortly thereafter, you will see a small
shopping strip on your left called The Family Furniture Shopping Center. Adam’s
House is a storefront within this strip.
